OLLY

Olly - Private ski instructor Verbier

MEET OLLY

Olly has been on skis practically his whole life – he first hit the slopes at just three years old and spent his childhood travelling to France or Italy every year with his family, where his love for skiing really took off – those early adventures in the mountains are a huge part of who he is today.

Before stepping into instructing, Olly spent three seasons working as a ski technician; two in Aosta Valley in Italy and one in New Zealand. So he’s learnt everything there is to know about skis and how to make them perform at their best!

That hands-on experience really helps his teaching too – as well as a great technical understanding his knowledge of equipment helps him make clients feel comfortable and confident on snow.

When he’s not carving up the mountain, Olly is usually out playing golf or cricket, keeping his competitive spirit alive all year round.

He’s happiest when he’s outdoors, active, and having a good laugh with his friends and family around him. Whether he’s chasing fresh groomers, tuning skis or teeing off, Olly brings a warm, energetic vibe to everything he does.

SOME LOCAL KNOWLEDGE:

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MOUNTAIN RESTAURANT?

“It’s very hard to goo wrong at Dahu – great pizzas and really good service. Plus you get amazing views!”

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SKI AREA?

“I love Savoleyeres and the new lift will transform access to this amazing terrain. It has steep stuff to keep you developing, gentle slopes to practice and (most importantly) when the rest of resort is busy Sav often stays much quieter.”

WHERE’S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE FOR APRES?

“Definitely head to the Pub Mont Fort to get the best mix of locals and holiday-makers. It’s legendary and can get pretty busy when the lifts close. But Happy hour is a great reward for a hard day on the hill.”

WHAT’S YOUR BEST TIP FOR A HOLIDAY IN VERBIER?

“Try out different kit if you can. Just trying some different skis with a different radius or width can really open your eyes to how you can change your skiing and how your equipment can help (or hinder) your development.”
