BASI Trainer Tori - Private ski instructor Verbier

MEET TORI

Tori learnt to ski on the dry ski slope just a couple of minutes’ drive from where she grew up in Lancashire. As a teenager Tori often spent her evenings and weekends training and racing slalom there.

After studying Geography at university Tori came out to Verbier for her first ski season in 2014 and has been teaching skiing ever since. She did back-to-back winter seasons for three years, working in Mount Buller, Australia. But now she’s based in Switzerland year-round.

Tori is fully qualified in the British and Swiss ski instructor systems. She loves coaching new instructors to help them become the best teachers and skiers that they can be and seeing them progress through the season.

She also enjoys teaching private clients of all levels – whether it’s a technical lesson in carving or moguls or a complete beginner.

Her ethos when teaching is to find out what your goals are for your lesson and help you to achieve them whilst having a great time and enjoying the mountains on the way.

When not skiing Tori loves exploring the Swiss Alps by foot and by bike, spending the summers hiking and road biking.

SOME LOCAL KNOWLEDGE:

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MOUNTAIN RESTAURANT?

“Definitely Dahu. Whether you just want a quick pizza (the best in Verbier in my opinion!) or a longer lunch, Dahu has you covered. It’s always hard to choose from their yummy menu! Plus the view is amazing!”

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SKI AREA?

“Got to be Bruson. The pistes are long, quiet and always perfectly groomed and on a powder day you can have great fun skiing off-piste between the trees.”

WHERE’S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE FOR APRES?

“Hmm, that’s a tricky one, but I think Lumi for me – they have a lovely, sunny terrace and often have live music playing which makes for a great atmosphere.”

WHAT’S YOUR BEST TIP FOR A HOLIDAY IN VERBIER?

“Make sure to plan your trip so get to ski all the different areas – Savoleyres, Bruson, the 4 Vallees – they all have something different to offer and you’ll feel like you’ve properly explored the area.”
