SVEA

Svea - Private ski instructor Verbier

MEET SVEA

Originally from Germany, Svea grew up skiing across the Alps and Scandinavia before moving to the UK to study Economics. After more than a decade working in investment banking in London, she took a break to join our Peak Leaders course in Verbier and re-discovered her love of skiing.

Svea enjoyed the training and teaching so much that she decided to leave London and move to Verbier year-round, joining the Element team as an instructor and training towards her Level 3 & 4 qualifications.

In the summer months, you will usually find her exploring the mountains, kitesurfing, sailing or running – last summer, she was even persuaded to run a marathon.

SOME LOCAL KNOWLEDGE:

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE MOUNTAIN RESTAURANT?

“There’s lots of great options around Verbier, but for something a bit different I’d say try Cabane Mont Fort which is a traditional mountain hut with incredible panoramic views.”

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE SKI AREA?

“Perhaps a controversial opinion… but I do love a few laps of the M25 first thing in the morning when the piste is still perfectly groomed and empty!”

WHERE’S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE FOR APRES?

“Sunset drinks on the slopes at 1936 followed by Lumi is a great way to finish the day, especially if you’re into live music!”

WHAT’S YOUR BEST TIP FOR A HOLIDAY IN VERBIER?

“Beat the queues in the morning and get out early to explore the rest of the 4 Valleys, there’s tons of great skiing beyond just the Verbier area.”
