Concept Training Terms and Conditions

It’s really important that you read and understand our terms and conditions if you join the training programme.

Essentially it’s the contract between you (the Trainee) and the ski school (Element Concept SARL – referred to hereafter as Element).

We’ve kept it all simple and whilst these points are there to be adhered to, we are also prepared to be as flexible as possible to find a solution that works for you. these are the formal rules but we are always happy to discuss your situation on a case-by-case basis.

Booking & Payment:

The trainee agrees to pay the full fee on the invoice before the start of the training and as required by Element unless otherwise agreed by both parties.

Upon completing the booking form and upon completion of an interview, a deposit of 50% of the total booking must be paid by the Trainee.

A booking is not considered fully confirmed until the deposit is received. Your deadline will be on your invoice.

Cancellation/Curtailment policy for you:

Should the Trainee cancel the following rules apply:

• Cancelation after booking: the 50% booking fee will not be refunded

• Cancelation after payment deadline: there is no refund

• Courses are not transferable (unless agreed directly with the Element directors)

• No refund will be given in whole or in part, for unused course fees due to a student’s non-attendance, late arrival, illness, accident, resort closure due to weather conditions or mechanical failure, or for any other cause outside of the control of Element

• In the event of a closure of resort for other reasons Element will normally offer a pro-rata refund depending on the circumstances

NB: In the event of being absent due to circumstances beyond your control – like illness or injury – we will do our very best to help you claim the course fees through any insurance you hold. We recommend you have a comprehensive insurance policy covering skiing and including off-piste skiing.

Cancellation policy for Element:

• Courses will run with a minimum of 5 people and a maximum of 8 students per group

• If the minimum number of students are not booked on the course, Element reserve the right to cancel the course and fully refund the course fees paid – but Element is not liable for any other costs or losses

• Element is obliged to take into account the prevailing conditions. Element therefore establishes a programme of course times, venues and content but these arrangements are always subject to alteration in the light of prevailing circumstances and Trainee progress

Not included:

Accommodation, lift passes and insurance are not included in the price of the course. We are happy to help with finding accommodation, please let us know if you would like assistance with this

Accident and injury:

Element does not accept any liability for accidents that happen during lessons or in relation to the delivery of these lessons.

The Trainees are required to insure themselves for third party liability and to arrange a policy that provides for personal, medical and rescue insurance for skiing with a licensed and reputable insurer.

Element does not insure clients of the ski school. Lift passes and the necessary equipment are obligatory and are the responsibility of the client, not the ski school.

Element does not accept liability for any injury, illness, death or any loss or damage.

Injuries and / or medical conditions:

It is a condition of any Element programme that you inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions.

Student Behaviour:

• For reasons of safety, it is a condition of booking that students will respect the professional judgment of their Element instructor while they are participating in the course

• Trainees should present themselves in a fit and safe condition for physical activity in the mountain environment

• Any Trainee who Element consider unsuitable for ski instructor training may be refused a place or removed from the course

• Any Trainee who attends the course at any time under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be removed from the course immediately with no refund

• Any Trainee who does not meet Element’s Staff ‘Code of Conduct & Rules’ (see Staff Manual) while teaching for Les Elfes or Concept will be suspended immediately from teaching

Employment:

Opportunities to work directly for Element as a Concept Instructor and / or for Les Elfes are offered based on merit and at the discretion of the companies involved.

If, at any time during the course, you have cause for complaint, let us know immediately and we will endeavor to address the situation and resolve it to your satisfaction.
